Each restaurant at the resort will allow you to speak with a staff member about your gluten-free needs. We are gluten and wheat allergic, so I always appreciate knowing that I can ask questions and request gluten-free options directly.

At Great Wolf Lodge, they are more than happy to discuss your dietary needs. If you need more information, ask to speak with a manager or someone who can walk you through what is available and how gluten-free orders are handled. What we ate at Great Wolf Lodge Manteca, CA
Here is exactly what worked for us at the Manteca location.

Dinner at Buckets and a gluten-free bun that surprised me at Great Wolf Lodge
We ate at Buckets for dinner the night we arrived. The next day we ordered fries as a mid-day snack.
When you place the order, you can choose a gluten-free bun. I was pleasantly surprised because it was not the typical gluten-free bun we are used to seeing. It looked more like a homemade-style bun, and that is always exciting when you are gluten-free.
Coffee and gluten-free breakfast options
There were gluten-free breakfast and coffee options at Great Wolf Lodge. In the morning I ordered my plain cup of coffee from Dunkin’ using the same on-demand ordering page.
They also offer a gluten-free dining option in-house, but it is buffet style. You can talk to a staff member and order gluten-free pancakes, omelets, and other options. They even had an area that was mostly gluten-free that felt like a yogurt parfait station.
Gluten-free pizza from Hungry As A Wolf

For dinner on our last night, I ordered pizzas for pickup from Hungry As A Wolf. They have a gluten-free pizza option. The pizzas are individual sized, but it was big enough for my daughter and me to share.
The pizza was actually very good and not the traditional cracker crust you often get at restaurants. It reminded me more of a fluffy flatbread style, and it did not feel like you were settling.
A sit-down dinner options at Great Wolf Lodge, we missed this time
There was a sit-down dining option for dinner with a bar, but we did not have time to eat there during our trip. This is part of why I like having multiple choices. On family trips, plans change quickly.
Drinks and treats that worked for our gluten-free family at Great Wolf Lodge
If you get time to relax and have a cocktail, the bars carry hard seltzers. I opted for a Truly and a White Claw.

If your kids love candy, they will love the Great Wolf Candy Company. You can buy a souvenir bucket and fill it up with your favorite candies. Many candies are labeled by brand, so I was able to confirm if they were a safe option for the kids. If you do not feel comfortable with that, they also had MrBeast chocolate bars for sale, which can be an easy option to recognize quickly.
Why Great Wolf Lodge Appeals to Teens
If you are traveling with teens, you know they want a trip that feels fun and not “little kid” focused. Great Wolf Lodge can be a great fit because there is so much to do beyond just swimming.
For our teens, two favorites were the arcade and the bowling. Having those options is huge, especially when they want breaks from the water park.

Tips for Traveling with Teens
If you can, consider going during the week. The weekends can get really busy, and that was my 15-year-old’s biggest complaint.
We also noticed that it started to clear out around 4pm, and the last hour of being open was the least busy. That ended up being the perfect time for waterslides over and over without long waits.
And if you get sick of swimming, there are plenty of other activities like mini golf, an obstacle course, the arcade, and mini bowling. There is plenty to do, and no one will have much time to be bored.
Question for you: What do your kids or teens like to eat for lunch when you travel? And what kind of recipe do you want Claire to make next?
