Hot Chocolate (Dairy Free, Gluten Free)

We love to enjoy hot cocoa while decorating our home for the holidays. In the years passed I purchases an organic drinking chocolate from Whole Foods and made it with organic milk. With my daughter being lactose intolerant I needed to create something delicious and healthy that the entire family could enjoy.

Coconut cream and full fat coconut milk have been my go-to. We enjoy the flavor and it has filled the void that heavy cream left us with.






Serve this with candy canes or your favorite marshmallows and deck the halls with your festive drink. One way I like to enjoy this drink is with a little peppermint schnapps in mine.


Ingredients:

3 Cups Non-Dairy Milk

1 Cup Coconut Cream

3 TBSP. Coconut Sugar

1 tsp. Vanilla

¼ Cup Cocoa Powder



Directions:

Whisk together all of the ingredients in a sauce pan on medium heat. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes, whisking every 2 minutes. Serve with marshmallows or candy canes. Enjoy!
