Hot Chocolate (Dairy Free, Gluten Free)
With having so many food allergies and restrictions I had to come up with a Dairy Free Hot Chocolate Mix that we could enjoy as a family. It actually turned out to be very easy to make a healthy vegan hot chocolate.
Healthy Vegan Hot Chocolate
My youngest is lactose intolerant and buying premade mixes at the store is a thing of the past for us. Luckily this dairy free hot chocolate mix is so easy that I can throw it together quickly. When they are doing a hot cocoa day at school I simply put it in a thermos and send it to school.
We have a holiday tradition of drinking this healthy vegan hot chocolate while taking out the Christmas decorations and decorating the house. We all get excited and if mama needs a little kick you can totally add a shot of something in this- I won’t tell anyone ;).

The kids start requesting this in July, but I won’t start making it until we are closer to Thanksgiving. Some things need to be special and this is one of them. They know that the holidays are nearing when I agree to make it.
I also always made this every time we had a snow day in Washington. I’m not a fan, so my Hubby would take them out to play and I would have healthy vegan hot chocolate ready for everyone when they came in.

How do I make this Dairy Free Hot Chocolate Mix?
It is as simple as adding all of the ingredients to a sauce pan and whisking together. You will allow it to simmer and whisk every few minutes. Then you can serve it with some coconut whip, candy canes, marshmallows, or anything that you would like.
To make this paleo you will just swap the regular sugar for coconut sugar and that’s it! The rest of this is already paleo, vegan, and super healthy!
So now that the weather is changing you will want to make this Dairy Free Hot Chocolate Mix all the time. Happy Holidays!
