Mexican Dirty Rice with Ground Beef

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 white onion medium size, diced
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 2 8 oz bags Mahatma® Ready to Serve Rice in Jasmine Cilantro Lime


  1. Heat a large skillet on medium heat and add the oil. Once the oil is heated add the onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Sauté for 8 minutes or until the onions are translucent and the bell pepper is slightly tender.

  2. Add the beef and begin to brown. While the beef is browning sprinkle the salt, thyme, granulated garlic, cumin, and chili powder all over. Stir to combine.

  3. Cook the Mahatma® Ready to Serve Rice in the microwave according to the package directions.

  4. Once the beef is browned, add the rice, stir to blend, and serve.
