Sloppy Joes From Scratch

This is the perfect cleaner version of the recipe you loved growing up. Naturally gluten and dairy free, serve o your favorite gluten free bun or bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 TBSP. Avocado Oil
  • ½ Onion diced
  • 1 Carrot diced
  • 1 TBSP. Chopped Garlic
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper diced
  • 1 Lb. Ground Beef or Ground Turkey

Sauce:

  • 1 Cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ Cup Ketchup
  • ¼ Cup Coconut Sugar
  • ¼ tsp. Ground Mustard
  • 2 TBSP. GF Tamari Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Onion Powder
  • ¼ tsp. Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet heat the oil.
  • Sauté the onion, garlic, carrot and bell pepper for 4 minutes.
  • Add the meat and brown it.
  • While the meat is cooking add all of the sauce ingredients together and mix well.
  • Once the meat is cooked through, pour the sauce in the pan and reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve on a GF bun or just GF bread. Enjoy!
