If you are reading this then you may have noticed the website looks different, again.
I decided to make some major changes this time. It’s not just the layout, colors and theme of the blog. I switched from blogger to wordpress and my hosting site as well.
In the last week (or less, my brain is mush) I have tried to make sense with what seemed like a foreign language. I am still not done, but I got most of the big deal items handled at this point.
Blogger was great, especially for someone like me who is not incredibly tech savvy. I have truly come a long way though. Man-o-man. I have been avoiding this transition for some time. I knew about a year ago that I would have to do it, but I have dreaded it. I honestly didn’t expect to do it this sudden, but blogger could no longer handle what I needed it to do and was making the user experience frustrating and making my life more difficult.
So, I took the plunge.
For the last 5 or so days I have been working behind the scenes. Transferring the posts, getting a theme, widgets, the layout, disclosures. All of the fun stuff. During this process I clicked the import button twice and this caused blogger to repost every post I have (over 250 of them) and every post was duplicated. This pushed me to finish the new site faster because I didn’t want to deal with the headache.
For awhile yesterday my pins were going to an error page and the transfer wasn’t happening as seamlessly as it should. After crying for a half hour my best friend sent me a video with easy to follow instructions and I fixed it!
You will notice that some of the pictures in the posts are blurry. This will get fixed with time. I tried several plugins and none of them worked, one actually made it worse. So, I will likely have to manually go in and change all of the pictures. Please be patient with me.
Also, there is a super cute recipe card now! All new recipes here on out will have this fancy card. I am going to go in and add it manually to my most popular posts and hopefully eventually update the majority of them. This is incredibly time consuming though, so its not on my top list of priorities at the moment.
The “Recipe” section of the menu is blank for the time being. I will get to this eventually as well, but my work load is backed up at the moment. If there is a particular recipe you are searching for, you can use the handy search bar tool to look up whatever you need. The search bar has got you covered. You can also follow my board of Pinterest and all of my recipes are saved there for you!
Thank you again for your patience. I just want to remind you that this blog and the recipes cost money to run. Your support through purchasing my books, or clicking the links I share to order items helps to support this. I am really hoping to turn the page with the blog now that this big change has been made, so that I can create an income doing what I love and helping others.
Have a great day and please reach out if you have any questions.
