23 Gluten Free Dairy Free Recipes Dad will love
Father’s Day is already this weekend. This year has literally flown by. With so much to do it seems like the days are never long enough. It’s time to start thinking about what we will do for those special dads in our life.
However, this year I am totally leaving my comfort zone and doing something I have never enjoyed in the past… CAMPING.
My husband has requested a camping trip this fathers day weekend. Normally, I would never even entertain this notion. Last year my husband took my son for the weekend and the girls stayed behind. My daughter will not allow herself to be left behind anymore. She wants to do everything the boys will do and it is difficult to keep an eye on both of them alone for my hubby, so I am going along.
At first I resisted. The last time I camped was when I was 19 and my husband was 22. After that I had ZERO desire to ever attempt such a thing again. I don’t like sleeping on the ground. Bugs bite me like crazy and I just felt like I was paying to live outside when I had a lovely comfortable bed at home.
Now we have kids and I need to put my personal needs aside and allow them these fun experiences. Plus, now we live in stunning Washington state and I am trying to see all of its beauty this summer. I plan to take my camera and get some great nature shots.
I am also going to do something I don’t do, EVER. I am going to unplug. This blog keeps me on a screen for a good part of my day. I will not have access to charge my phone (this took me a while to process) and the reception will probably be horrible. At first, I resisted this. The more I thought I about it thought- I realized I need this.
I am super excited that our neighbors, whom we have become very close friends with will be joining us. Our children are the same age and we truly enjoy eachothers company, so this is going to be a great time for us and the kids.
I will likely write a blog post about it and share with you our menu for the trip, packing and all of the details.
