Teal Pumpkin Project
Will you be participating in the Teal Pumpkin this year for Halloween? Last year was the first year I saw this and I thought what a great idea!
There are so many kids and parents that feel a lot of panic with Halloween because of their food allergies. What a relief it is for a child who knows what this teal pumpkin means and to see one sitting on a doorstep.
I was planning to just purchase a craft pumpkin and paint it teal myself but to my surprise, Michael’s had teal pumpkins! They were half off too and I had a 20% off coupon (happy dance)!
I wanted to also share with you some of the things that I am going to use for children who come that request teal pumpkin treats. Who wants kids eating all of that candy anyways!
Some fun Teal Pumpkin Treat Ideas are:
Pencils and Erasers
How about some good old loose change?
Here is what I am doing…
I found all of the cute goodie bag stuffers at Target. The skulls were a multi pack for just a $1.
I will put the teal pumpkin on my front porch and I will also put a post on my neighborhood Facebook page to let them know that we have non-food items.
The Spider rings and pencils were $1 for the pack and the multi pack was $5.
This is the content of each little skull.
