My Top 10 Kitchen Essentials of 2016

Top 10 Kitchen Essentials of 2016
(A great guide to gift giving)

I do a whole lot of cooking, even when I don't want to. Over the years I have accumulated a lot of different brands of kitchen essentials. Obviously when we first started out I didn't have great quality items. As the years have gone on though, I have gotten some great items for my kitchen. I am not the type of person to buy every gadget for each different thing. I prefer a few things that do a lot and very efficiently. Even if they might cost more and that is for two reasons. 1) I don't want to waste storage space on a bunch of things. 2) I want higher quality pieces that do a lot of things.

This post contains affiliate links, because we all have to pay the bills.

All of these items on this list, I own (or have). I can vouch for all of these kitchen essentials. These are items that I am using on a weekly or even daily basis and I can't live without them.

If you are simply looking to update your kitchen or your shopping for a great wedding or birthday gift for someone who loves to cook... You can't go wrong and all of these have links so you can purchase them. I hope you enjoy these items as much as I do and if there is something you LOVE please share with me so I can try it out! Thanks!!

Here they are...

10) Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I have had this mixer for 5 years and it runs like its brand new. This baby is pulled out for cookies, cakes, mashed potatoes, whipped cream and the attachments that you can buy for it make it a versatile essential tool for any cooks kitchen. You will use it constantly and absolutely love it.

9) A Non-stick pan set is always something every kitchen needs. I have this simply calphalon set and I use it every morning for eggs and pancakes and every night for dinner.

8) Calphalpn Stainless Set. You also need a stainless steel set in your kitchen. The pot is perfect for pastas and steaming and the pans are what you want to use when you are cooking with very high heat. One set of each and you will be good-to-go for years to come.

7) Pampered Chef Stones. I own several of these and I will never ever be without one as long as I live. This is the ONLY thing I will bake cookies on. The stone distributes the heat evenly and makes the most perfectly cooked cookies. This is a MUST. I also use it for making pizza.

6) This electric wine opener is a life saver. Who wants to fiddle with the old kind unless you have to? I love this thing. I have had one for the last 6-7 years. I finally had to replace my last one last year. Do your best friend a favor and for her birthday give her one of these with a bottle of wine.

5)Silicone Pot Holders. Fabric Pot holders are a thing of the past and I find it is difficult for me to maneuver big heavy trays with my hands stuck in a pot holder. This silicone mitts cover your finger tips and thumb allowing you to get an excellent grip. They protect you from the heat and come in super fun cute colors. Perfect inexpensive gift to give or get yourself.

4) J.A. Henckels Knife Set. These knife sets really are incredible. There are 2 sets shown, one is a less expensive set and I believe that it is the set that was gifted to us when we got married (almost 12 years ago) I just replaced it not even 2 years ago with a better set like the one shown below. As long as you sharpen your knives regularly this brand is not going to let you down. This is really an excellent wedding gift as it was for me once.

3) Le Cruset Utensil set in Caribbean. Who doesn't want this! Le Cruset is beautiful high quality cookwear. They
are very appealing to the eye and hold up time after time!

2) Cuisinart on Demand Coffee Pot. Say goodbye to a cold pot of coffee. This coffee maker is my favorite and we have had a lot. You simply place your cup on the tray and press down and you can more as much or as little as you need. What I love about this is that my Husband makes the coffee when he gets up for work and when I am up with the kids I don't have to fuss with it. I grab a mug, press the button and theres my cup of joe. You can keep it on for several hours to keep it hot and turn it back on to reheat the coffee that is in it.

1) Of Course the Instant Pot. I can not rave enough about this appliance. My best friend sent me the amazon link to it when they had a sale and ever since I have been using it, time after time. It really is the end all be all. This thing does EVERYTHING!!! I always suggest that if you know someone going off to college and they will be in a dorm (especially with a gluten allergy) or a studio apartment, this is what they need. They can cook everything in it and it will be a life saver. See my post Top 5 Instant Pot Recipes Number One:

So these are my top 10. There are a lot more I would recommend but I will save those for a future post. I really love these items and I confident that you would too!!
